Redesign the Redroom Photography website and brand, to increase user engagement, and optimize the user experience to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
The original website and logo were outdated. The website caused user frustration due to complex navigation and unclear calls-to-action (CTAs).
The primary challenge entailed harmonizing the brand's artistic style with photography and cultivating a distinctive art form that aligns with the company's identity and values. This was achieved while ensuring that the product remained the central focus of the website.
The Redroom aesthetic was developed around a red photograph created by staging a darkroom light-up set piece. This unique style inspired the design of custom abstraction red wave art in the site's background. The logo was crafted using an artistic circular object to symbolize an abstract camera lens. In addition to establishing the brand's artistic style, a product-focused homepage was created to feature a gallery preview and ensure the website's flow aligns with the branding style.
In the initial phase, I designed artwork for the website and subsequently concentrated on the wireframes to assess and establish overall design strategies, define content sections, and refine the website's framework.
This photograph was produced in a dimly lit room by staging and arranging red paper with concealed lighting to accentuate a new form.
The art direction was created by abstracting the inspiration photo into a unique shape, representing the art lifestyle.
The logo was created in Adobe Illustrator using the inspiration photograph into an artistic design, symbolizing an abstract camera.
The promotion posters were crafted with Adobe Photoshop, employing a consistent and direct approach. They prominently feature captivating photographs that showcase the new Tokyo exhibition. The carefully curated colors mirror the logo, seamlessly integrating the company's pattern in the background to establish a cohesive brand identity, ultimately boosting visibility and sales.
The business card features a simple and bold design. The front side prominently displays the company's logo with the company's signature pattern in the background to complement the logo. The reverse side contains the company's contact information with the same pattern, ensuring a unified and cohesive visual identity.
The tri-fold brochures were designed with Adobe Photoshop, incorporating a contemporary artistic layout with distinct angles and images highlighting the upcoming Tokyo exhibition. The color scheme harmonizes with the company's brand, featuring the company's signature colors and pattern as a backdrop, enhanced by watercolor paint splatters to reinforce the brand's identity.
The design system has been simplified with a consistent color scheme featuring predominantly red tones, complemented by white, black, and occasional blue tones in the logo and footer art. The highly legible Roboto font was used as a headline font to refresh the aesthetic and align with the narrative of Redroom Photography. The website was designed in Figma and finalized in Webflow for swift development and maximum style control.
The client received a state-of-the-art multilingual website with a payment portal, portfolio/gallery, contact forms, and dynamic landing pages, all managed through Webflow CMS. After conducting multiple rounds of usability testing, the site increased user engagement by 28% and referrals by 12%.
