Logo Design

A square sign mounted on a building exterior shows an illustration of a tiger's head inside a red circle. Below the image, the text reads "Tiger Den" in large, bold letters, with "Ramen Bar" underneath in smaller font. The building has a modern design with large windows.

My Process

The initial stage of logo design involves understanding the purpose behind the logo requirement and the intended audience. Subsequently, it is essential to articulate the brand identity and its core representation. The next step is to find a source of inspiration and to perform an analysis of the competition to ensure that the design achieves distinctiveness. Following this, creating a range of concise visual concepts to explore different ideas and design styles is imperative. After selecting a specific concept, thorough research into the most appropriate color scheme and typography complementing the design becomes crucial.

Redroom Photography

Redroom Photography captures the allure of exotic locales through its unique artistic approach. The Redroom aesthetic is centered around a crimson photograph created by orchestrating a darkroom light installation.

This style inspired bespoke abstraction red wave art as the platform's backdrop. The logo integrates an abstract camera lens and a vibrant tone, symbolizing the beauty prevalent in the world.

The color palette encompasses shades of red, blue, and purple, and the Montserrat typeface was purposefully chosen for its compatibility with the refined graphic style, ensuring cohesive design integration.

Xtra Affordable Moves

Xtra Affordable Moves aims to deliver seamless relocation services and positive client experiences. The rebranding focused on showcasing the company's expertise and resilience through a redesigned logo featuring a bold, abstract blue X inspired by logistics corporations and innovative letter X motifs.

The goal was to create a memorable emblem that would be easily recognizable, especially on the company's trucks. The emphasis on the letter "X" conveys strength, complemented by dynamic lines to evoke speed and resilience.

The blue color palette was chosen for trust and security, and the Poppins typeface integrates seamlessly with the overall design.

Tiger Den

Tiger Den is a renowned ramen eatery in southwest Houston. The establishment is adorned with captivating artwork, creating a unique and visually engaging ambiance. The goal was to capture this in the design.

So a comic-style depiction of a tiger with a prominent red circle behind its head was created to ensure visibility. The aim was to imbue the logo with a dynamic and visually arresting style, eliciting a sense of excitement.

The color palette consists of straightforward black for the primary typography and a tiger outline accentuated by a vibrant red circle and red text for added emphasis. The selection of the Bebas Neue typeface blends with the intended graphic style, resulting in a unified design.

Black Knight Tattoo

Black Knight is a distinguished tattoo studio looking to reflect the studio's bold and attention-grabbing characteristics by drawing inspiration from the legend of the black knight.

A graphic-style rendering of the knight's helmet against a plain white backdrop ensures a clear and uncluttered visual impact. The objective was to infuse the logo with a dynamic and graphic flair, evoking excitement.

The color palette features a refined use of black for the primary typography and the outline of the helmet, augmented by a robust black typeface to enhance its overall impact. The selection of the Montserrat typeface serves to harmonize with the desired graphic style.

Canteen

Canteen is a brand that specializes in selling reusable stainless steel drinking containers. The client presented a reference picture of a canteen for inspiration. I sketched the logo on paper and then used Photoshop to remove the background from the reference photo.

Afterward, I overlaid the sketch on the edited inspiration photo to create the final design. I aimed to imbue the logo with a rugged yet clean style, evoking a sense of the outdoors.

The color scheme features a simple black outline and typography, complemented by a blue and silver-tone within the drawing. I chose the Old Standard typeface for its compatibility with the desired campy style, resulting in a unified and cohesive design.

Southside Yokai

Southside Yokai is a skateboarding brand renowned for its focus on accessories and fashion items. The brand's distinctive style served as the inspiration for its logo, which draws from a variety of yokai creatures rooted in Japanese myths and legends.

In Japanese tradition, "yokai" denotes supernatural entities and enigmatic occurrences. To encapsulate this rich lore the logo integrates a mythical element with a darker graphic tone while also endeavoring to resonate with skate culture and Japanese heritage.

The color scheme adopts a simple black-and-white palette, while the Montserrat typeface was selected for its suitability in this comic book graphic style, thereby unifying the overall design.
